Premier Division
BAY FENCING 50
CRESTA LEISURE 40

BAY Fencing had the edge in this tight Premier Division match-up .
Cresta started with one player short and clean play and great flow highlighted the professionalism and skill of these two teams, and led to an almost even scoreline at the end of the first period.

In the second quarter, Bay started to really utilise their free player, increasing their score with great shooting from GA Chantelle Halloran.  Cresta maintained their composure and fought back, reducing the deficit.

Bay WA Hayley Stanton showed her agility, speeding across the court and providing constant support to her team-mates. Cresta C Jess Buckseall worked tirelessly to get the ball to her shooters at every opportunity.

The final quarter continued to be very controlled, with accurate passes from both teams.

In the end, it was Bay Fencing who walked away with the win.

Division One

WYKE SMUGGLERS 38

OJOS 52

OJOS started strongly, taking the first three goals and maintained their lead to take the points.

Wyke Smugglers were quick to react, bringing the score level and using superb movement in the circle to take the first quarter by two goals.

Both teams fought hard through the mid-quarters, capitalising on any errors to win ball back for their teams.

Fantastic mid-court play by OJOs allowed them to turn over balls, followed up by excellent shooting from Mandy Grafton (GS), despite the best efforts of Wyke Smugglers GK Eve Montgomery.

A tactical change to centre court players for Wyke Smugglers, proved successful as they matched OJOs’ goal for goal in the final quarter, but OJOs were in their stride and continued to ramp up the pressure, ending the match with a solid win.

Division Two

MERAKI 34

POTTING SHED 24

POTTING Shed took to the court with only five players, stacking the odds against them from the start and giving underdogs, Meraki, a fighting chance.

Both teams played hard, with Potting Shed having to use all their strength and skill to keep themselves in the game.

Meraki showed great teamwork and excellent shooting skill to take an early lead but Potting Shed players put 110 per cent into the game, using agility and an excellent work rate from all players to keep themselves in the game, even managing to take the lead at points.

Meraki continued to work hard to move the ball up the court, where the shooters were waiting to convert.
Great side-line support spurred them on.
Potting Shed showed amazing determination, against impossible odds, cheering each other on through every touch of the ball.

Meraki started to pull away during the third quarter, with Potting Shed struggling to maintain the pace they had initially set. At the final whistle, an elated Meraki took their second win of the season.

Division Two
NMP PROPERTY 21
OJOS B 19

BOTH teams started out strongly in this evenly-matched game.
The ball moved constantly up and down the court at a fast pace, with players from both teams using space expertly.

NMP came into the middle quarters one goal ahead, but OJOs were determined to gain the lead, with Mandy Langton at C working well to feed the ball into the shooting circle.
Despite this effort, NMP were able to extend their lead slightly, forcing OJOs to up their game with some fantastic interceptions.

NMP continued their determined attacking play in the final quarter, with GA Emily Clunes displaying excellent use of space in the D.

OJOs maintained their fighting spirit, moving the ball accurately down the court; however, they were unable to eliminate the score difference completely, and NMP walked away victorious.
