GUNGHO Marketing came out on top of this top of the table clash, earning valuable points in the race for the top.

Gungho’s C, Tia Chalenor, made great use of space across the court, allowing her team to carve out a small lead.

OTC upped their attack to move the ball swiftly down the court, however, Gungho were quick to secure turnovers and increase their lead. OTC responded with some superb interceptions by GK Lyndsey Pollard but were unable to capitalise on these.

The final quarter saw fantastic fast-paced play with sharp passes across the court.Gungho continued to make successful interceptions, despite OTC’s strategic use of space, ensuring they ended with the victory.

WATERSIDE 61

WATERSIDE asserted their superiority in the table over their lowly opponents to secure a comfortable win.

Waterside came out with superb enthusiasm to take an initial lead and their GD Sarah Breaks showed her defensive skill to prevent OJOs from taking advantage of scoring opportunities, allowing her team to maintain a good lead.

OJOs dominated the court in the second quarter, ensuring Waterside could not increase their lead.

Waterside upped their game in the third quarter, driving the ball skilfully down the court. OJOs C Kathy Sims put up a good defence, but Waterside showed superb tactical play to get the ball to their shooters and increase their lead.

Both teams showed great determination in the final quarter and Waterside found a good rhythm, allowing them to significantly increase their lead and claim a convincing victory.

BELLE CONSTRUCTION 50

SAINTS SECURITY 20

LEAGUE leaders Belle Construction eased to a victory over fifth-place Saints Security and both teams came out with great determination.

Saints were quick to score several good goals but Belle showed great strength in the midcourt with their C, Charlie Naerger, quick to intercept Saints’ balls and accurate passing ensured Belle capitalised on these, managing to carve out a small lead going into the middle quarters.

The middle quarters saw end-to-end play as both teams upped the defensive pressure.Belle’s WD, Carly Laws, made some particularly well-timed interceptions and fed the ball well into her shooters, who were able to take advantage and increase their team’s lead.

Despite Belle dominating the court, Saints remained calm and determined.

Saints’ GA, Linzi Gardner, made consistently effective use of rebounds to lower the score difference but Belle were quick to gain back the points.

A tactical change from Saints saw Becky Hallet move to GA, showing great skill in the circle. Belle continued to dominate, however, managing to secure an impressive 30-goal lead and claim the victory.

GEORGE BAR AND GRILL 52

GW ELECTRICAL 31

GEORGE Bar and Grill maintained kept pace with the teams above them, who all won, with a solid win over GW Electrical.

The first quarter saw some great, evenly-matched play and George were quick to gain the lead, with great teamwork by Rachel Lockwood (WA) and Nicky Marsh (C) moving the ball seamlessly down the court.

GW upped their defensive pressure and secured some crucial interceptions to lower the score-line going into the middle quarters.

George showed their skill, making excellent use of turnovers to increase their lead.

The pace increased in the third quarter with end-to-end play and George showed consistently accurate passing to score a string of goals, despite strong defence from GW.

George were quick to take advantage of having the first centre of the final quarter.GW’s Abby Tilsey made some lovely passes into the shooting circle, where GS, Hayley Rooks, was waiting to convert but despite GW’s continuing determination, it was George who ultimately claimed the victory thanks to superb skill across the court.
