Division One:

OJOS 44

WYKE SMUGGLERS 35

OJOS ensured a healthy gap at the top of the table in the last round of fixtures before the Christmas break against a Wyke Smugglers side trying to get into fifth place.

The game began at a steady pace with evenly-matched play across the court as OJOs showed impressive shooting skill with accurate long-distance shots, allowing them to carve out a small lead.

Wyke upped their game, causing the ball to move continuously from end to end as the teams fought for possession but OJOs made some key turnovers to further increase their lead.

However, OJOs managed to hold on to their lead with great enthusiasm to claim the victory.

Division Two:

MERAKI 47

POTTING SHED 6

MERAKI stormed to a big victory in their bottom of the table clash with Potting Shed as a missing umpire and a late start made for an interesting first quarter.

Meraki took full advantage of Potting Shed having only six players, allowing them to storm ahead with a spectacular 16-goal lead thanks to consistently accurate shooting from GS, Kelly Riglar.

Potting Shed fought hard throughout the middle quarters, scoring a few goals but struggling to stem the flow of Meraki’s attack as they further extended their lead.

Despite Potting Shed’s best efforts and strong spirit, Meraki walked away victorious from this thrilling match.

NMP PROPERTY 18

OJOS B 25

OJOs got a valuable win to narrow the gap on NMP Property, who are directly above them in the table in this fifth against sixth encounter.

Both teams made a fantastic start, with excellent teamwork allowing for smooth end-to-end play.

Robyn Dennis, WA for OJOs B, fought hard to get the ball to her shooters who were waiting to convert and carve out a small lead.

NMP came back fighting, with relentless attacking play allowing them to score three consecutive goals and bring them to

within one point of their opponent.

OJOs B fought back and scored a string of goals to maintain their lead, thanks to some accurate shooting from Sarah Mitchell at GA as they began to dominate the court despite strong NMP defence.

The OJOs continued to dominate in the final quarter but NMP’s WA, Alice Croucher, made superb use of space in her team’s goal third to get the ball to her shooters to lower the score difference.

In the end,  thanks to some fantastic tactical play, OJOs B secured the victory.
