TEAM WAIKIKI 50
BEAMINSTER BRAVES 15

TEAM Waikiki saw off struggling Beaminster Braves with a comprehensive victory.
Waikiki stormed ahead thanks to a strong attack to gain an early lead.
The teams battled it out in the mid-court in a bid to gain possession but strong defence by Braves’ Laura Alexander (C) saw her team score some much-needed goals to stay in the game.
Despite brilliant teamwork by Braves’ shooters, Waikiki’s Lauren Stones (GD) was on top form, securing some well-timed interceptions.

An early toss-up in the third quarter saw Waikiki gain possession, although Braves’ defenders were quick to take control of the ball and increase their lead.

With a rigid defence and superb attacking skill, Waikiki ended the match with a phenomenal lead to claim a well-earned victory.

Premier Division
OTC 18
GEORGE BAR AND GRILL 58

GEORGE Bar & Grill maintained their title push with a resounding win over the basement side
OTC.
A competitive start saw great fast-paced play from both teams.
OTC made some equally good interceptions but were unable to stop George from taking the
lead.
A tactical change for OTC saw Caroline Goode move to GD to put great pressure on George’s shooters.
George’s Rachel Lockwood (GA) showed phenomenal skill to secure seemingly impossible scoring opportunities.
George picked themselves up, with their defenders working hard to successfully shut down OTC’s attack.
Despite an early injury in the final quarter, George’s Becky Cousens was soon back on court and giving her all.
OTC’s defenders continued to fight against George’s attacking flow but despite a superb effort George ended with a convincing win.

NEW BODY FITNESS 52
OJOS 23

NEW Body Fitness earned a fine success over OJOS in the top flight.
In the final minutes of the quarter, New Body released a burst of energy to carve out a small lead.
A tactical change for OJOs saw Jackie Brisbane move to GK to give their defence energy.

However, New Body dominated the court in the middle quarters – accurate feeding into their D allowed their shooters to make the most of scoring opportunities and a strong defence ensured that, although New Body created just as many scoring opportunities, they were unable to capitalise on them.
New Body’s Kate Nicholls (GA) rarely missed when given the opportunity but, in the end, outstanding defensive skill ensured OJOs were victorious.

Division One
CRESTA LEISURE 48
WYKE SMUGGLERS 41

CRESTA Leisure had the edge in this top-two battle.
Wyke’s Amelia Corrie-Fairhurst (WD) made some good direct balls, helping to secure a lead of one point for Smugglers by the end of the quarter.
Smugglers found their rhythm to carve out a small lead, but Cresta’s defence worked hard to secure turnovers and keep the scores close. Cresta’s Carolyn Allgood (GS) made fantastic use of space in the D, allowing her team to edge in front.
Wyke’s defenders kept Cresta on their toes with great defensive tactics but Cresta continued to push ahead.
League leaders Cresta upped their game to keep ahead slightly, holding off Wyke long enough to secure their victory.
