SECOND-PLACED GW Electrical had the edge over Smugglers as they secured the points in this thriller.

Both teams started evenly, with defenders from both sides being kept on their toes as the ball kept moving across the court – GW’s GD Laura Osbourne made some particularly exceptional turnovers.

As the quarter came to an end, both teams’ superb play had paid off and left the scoreline even at six points each.

The match resumed with high energy as Wyke’s defenders upped their game, making it hard for GW to penetrate.

GW responded by ramping up the pressure, working hard to pull the score back to a one-goal difference by the end of the third quarter.

The fast-paced play continued to the end and despite going into the final quarter a goal behind, GW showed their strength and ultimately secured their victory with a one-goal lead at the final whistle blew.

GEORGE were quick to take the lead, with fantastic shooting from GS Rachel Scarff.

Cresta’s shooters worked well together inside the D, however George’s rigid defence limited scoring opportunities.

Cresta came back with brilliant tactical play in the mid-court to move the ball to their shooters but George kept up their defensive pressure.

The energy on court remained high as both teams gave their all, with George maintaining a convincing lead going into the final quarter.

Both teams continued to show high energy, with players working well together to increase their score as George’s efforts paid off as they claimed a convincing victory.

Division Two

NMP PROPERTY 31

NMP came out with all-round impressive play as C Megan Edwards made some well-timed interceptions and worked hard to help her team carve out a small lead.

Basepoint upped their game, making skilful use of space down the court to the D.

However, NMP’s GK Eve Van Der Steen was quick to intercept limiting Basepoint’s scoring opportunities.

Basepoint remained focused with great teamwork creating more scoring opportunities but NMP fought back with precise passing and fantastic movement to dominate the court over the middle quarters and increase their lead.

Basepoint shooters made the most of every ball that came their way but NMP kept tight control, allowing them to secure their lead and claim the victory.

Division One

OJOS 47 OTC 44

OTC made an impressive start, making excellent use of space, with superb interceptions from WA, Nicole Baker.

OJOs found their rhythm with some lovely shots at the edge of the D, however, OTC managed to pull ahead with some fantastic work in OJOs’ D by Lyndsey Pollard.

OJOs displayed brilliant tactical play in overcoming OTC’s steadfast defence, lowering the score difference slightly.

The pace increased and OJOs WA Rebecca Drake continued to move up and down the court with impressive speed to be available to her teammates.

OTC’s Kirsty Sibley (GD) made some impressive interceptions to limit scoring opportunities but OJOs were still able to reduce the goal difference down to only goals going into the final quarter.

OTC came back with spirit as they dominated the court and the pressure increased as the score drew even, but OJOs pushed ahead to earn the win with a well fought three-goal lead.
