WATERSIDE 34

GEORGE BAR AND GRILL 45

A FIERCE first quarter saw Waterside defenders Kirsty Holmes (GD) and Sarah Breaks (GK) work brilliantly to secure turnovers, maximising possession and goal opportunities.

Their efforts allowed Waterside to carve out a small lead by the end of the quarter.

The middle quarters remained fast-paced and intense as George’s Nicola Marsh (C) and Kirsty Winning (WA) came out fighting, with excellent mid-court play.

George GD’s Becky Cousens made some exceptional defensive plays, carrying out successful interceptions of long balls to create options for her team and narrow the deficit.
